The Concert
Few composers have shaped music as profoundly as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Nearly three centuries after his birth, his music continues to captivate with its beauty, brilliance and emotional range. Mozart’s Greatest celebrates his 270th birthday through three iconic masterpieces.
The Music
The programme opens with the dramatic Overture to Don Giovanni, whose dark, imposing chords immediately draw audiences into Mozart’s world. Nenad Ivović then joins the UAE National Orchestra for Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, moving between virtuosity, brilliance and the serene beauty of its celebrated Andante.
The second half presents Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, one of Mozart’s most recognisable and emotionally charged works, driven by urgency and underlying tension.
Together, the three works celebrate Mozart’s extraordinary versatility, from theatre and drama to intimacy and lyrical beauty, demonstrating why his symphonies live on and continue to inspire and delight audiences today.
The Performers
Serbian pianist Nenad Ivović joins the UAE National Orchestra as soloist for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, bringing its virtuosity, lyricism, and celebrated slow movement to life conducted by Ahmed Farag.
