One Night Only. Ten Years in the Making.
Dubai Opera invites you to an extraordinary gala evening marking a decade of artistic excellence, cultural exchange, and unforgettable performances. This is more than a concert; it is a celebration of our city’s vibrant cultural heartbeat and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the next chapter of our legacy unfold on stage.
Internationally acclaimed soprano Fatma Said headlines this milestone performance, joined by the UAE National Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Ahmed Farag, the Festival Chorus, and special guests from the world of dance and opera.
The evening opens with a world premiere, a brand-new orchestral work commissioned exclusively for this occasion by renowned composer Mohamed Medhat, honoring Dubai Opera’s ten-year journey and cultural impact.
The program then takes audiences on a seamless journey through the great stages of the world, the art of movement, beloved Arab classics, and a rousing operatic finale featuring Verdi’s stirring La Forza del Destino overture, Puccini’s tender "O mio babbino caro," Bizet’s fiery "Habanera" and "Les Voici! Voici la Quadrille," Mascagni’s lyrical Intermezzo, and Loewe’s joyful "I Could Have Danced All Night."
The stage then transforms for Celebrating Movement, showcasing Jan Martens' acclaimed Period Piece, performed by Kaine Ward with lighting by Rudy Parra from Lyon Opera Ballet and set to Górecki's Three Dances, presented by Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels. The night then turns inward with a heartfelt tribute to Arab Icons, as Fatma Said breathes new life into beloved classics including Fairouz’s Aatini Al Naya wa Ghanni, Mohamed Abdel Wahab’s La Mosh Ana El Abki, and Dalida’s Gamil El Soura. The gala culminates in a grand finale with Verdi’s La Traviata Prelude and Brindisi, performed by soloists, choir, and orchestra.
