The program opens with the radiant Blumenstück in D-flat major, Op. 19, a lyrical gem filled with delicate charm and warmth. Shmukler then explores the dramatic depth of the Novellette in F-sharp minor, Op. 21 No. 8, a work that reveals Schumann’s vivid imagination and emotional contrasts. The evening culminates with the monumental Symphonic Études in C-sharp minor, Op. 13, a virtuosic masterpiece that blends orchestral grandeur with intimate reflection.

Praised and described by many as an exceptionally talented pianist with a unique blend of imagination, individuality and passion, Ilya Shmukler captivates audiences around the world with performances of profound beauty and technical brilliance. He performed his first recital at age 12, and made his orchestral debut at 14. Since then, he made solo appearances in Europe and North America, and performed with such artists as Mikhail Pletnev, Paavo Järvi, Marin Alsop, Nicholas McGegan, Junichi Hirokami, Anne-Marie McDermott, Anton Nel and David Radzynski. Ilya Shmukler’s collaborations include the Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich, Musikkollegium Winterthur, the Mariinsky, Fort Worth Symphony, Sendai Philharmonic, Kansas City Chamber, Bayer-Symphoniker, and New Music Orchestras.
